Lots 2 Learn in February...

Mallory loves to learn and try new things, and I love to teach her. So, I have decided to work with her on certain themes each month. Kayden's mommy and I have been planning together and sharing ideas. Also, it helps that some of my best friends are kindergarten teachers at my school, so they have been sharing their ideas with me, too. This month we focused on activities involving Valentine's Day and hearts...

Here are just a few things we did in February...

This activity is kind of like bingo...I would call out a letter, and Mallory would cover it up...

Mallory knows ALL her letters!!

This was a fun sorting and counting game using Conversational candy hearts...

First, you have to open the box...

Second, pour them on the plate...

Next, you have to sort them by color...

Mallory put each color in a separate heart on the sheet...

Then, she picked out all the purples...

Then, all the pinks...

Next, sneak in a few bites...

Sort the yellows, oranges, and the whites...Then, we counted each of the colors...

Mallory mixed all the hearts together and counted ALL of them!

It sure is fun to learn with candy!

V is for Valentine...

Mallory is still not sure if she wants to write with her right or left hand...

H is for Hearts...

Now that Mallory knows all her uppercase letters, it is time to work on lowercase, too...
Color the uppercase S pink...

And, the lowercase s...

W = orange
A = green
P = blue

F = purple
I= yellow
She did it!

Mallory and Mommy had so much fun this month working on new things. Can't wait to see what's to come in March...
