Recital Rehearsal…

IMG_3794At Dance class tonight, Mommy got to watch Mallory’s routines for her upcoming dance recital at the end of May.  Mommy was so excited to see what she has learned, because usually no parents allowed during class.  We all had no idea what to expect…

IMG_3798Mallory noticed right away that Ms. Candace got a new haircut…she had to go to tell her she liked it…

IMG_3797Looking back at these pictures, I can definitely see Mallory’s red, puffy, left eye.  When we were getting ready for dance, she had some congestion in her eye, but I didn’t think much of it until later.  Little did we know, the next day she would be at home with pink eye…

First the girls lined up to show us their ballet routine to “Pizzicatti”

How awesome is Ms.Candice for putting Mallory and Kayden right beside each other for both dances!  The girls even have a part where they danced together holding hands…Mommy and Ms. Erin thought it was so precious, and when we saw it we smiled so big at each other…

Mommy was so proud of Mallory and impressed she new so much of her dances!  Several times Mommy got teary eyed watching her little dancer…it will be so awesome to see Mallory on a big stage all dressed up for the real recital!  She knew the tap routine much better than the ballet, and that was the case for most of the girls.  Ms. Candice made us a CD of the music, and Mommy took lots of video so we can practice at home.  As soon as we got in the car, Mallory wanted me to play the CD…she sang most of the words to “Broadway Baby.”  She was so excited and Mommy was, too!!!

Mother’s Day 2009…

IMG_7931 We spent most of the day driving home from San Antonio…Mommy sat in the VERY back of the van with Mallory and we played and laughed.  It was nice to spend time with her without any interruptions.  We were tired, but when we got home, Mallory and Daddy took me out to dinner for Mother’s Day…

IMG_7933 Mallory gave me a special card…she even wrote MOM on the envelope…

Thanks to Ms. Sharon for taking the kids on Friday to pick something out for their mommies…Mallory picked out this balloon and cupcake for me.

Nothing makes me happier than being Mallory’s mommy!!!  Since she was a little baby, I have told Daddy that I am in LOVE with her, and it is amazing how my love for her just grows deeper and deeper.  She makes me proud daily with the things she says and does, and her little personality is so adorably funny!

This weekend we went to San Antonio for Gramps’ Memorial.

Before we left, we had a conversation with Mallory:

Daddy: “We are going to Aunt Patsy’s house, but Gramps will not be there.”

Mallory: “Why?”

Daddy: “Because she is in Heaven.”

Mallory: As she is looking up, “Why?”

Daddy: “Because sometimes when you get sick, you go see God in Heaven.”

Mallory: “When she gets better, will she come back down here?”

Mommy: “You know how God made us all? Well, when we get older, we go to Heaven to live with God.”

Mallory: “Well, when y’all grow up big and go to Heaven, I won’t have a family.”

Daddy: “That won’t be for a long time.”

Mallory: Looking up she asks, “How did Gramps get way up there?”

Daddy: “Angels helped her.”

Gramps was 94; she had a long, wonderful life. We all wanted to celebrate her life, so we had a Luau celebration at Aunt Patsy’s house. It was good to see all the family while remembering Gramps and our love for her.

IMG_3738 Had to take a potty break. While in the bathroom, Mallory said, “I love that water; it is so fun!” Then, she wanted to try Paige’s lifejacket, so Aunt Donna helped her…

IMG_3732The noodle helped her stay up…she was kicking her feet and making splashes…

How precious are they listening to Mimi read her card…

IMG_3773 IMG_3775

Mallory gave Mimi a super cute wallet with dogs all over it…Mimi loves dogs. She and Granddad always babysit Daisy when we go out of town, and we appreciate it so much! And, Mimi is even taking Gramps’ dog home with her :o) Looks like Mimi likes it and Paige, too!

IMG_3778Mallory had to point out her favorite…
